Cheetah Run Demonstration and Endangered Predator Conservation Tour

THE CHEETAH RUN IS ONLY AVAILABLE ON WEDNESDAYS AND SUNDAY MORNINGS.

Tours depart at +/- 6:30am and return +/-12pm

(1,2M Height restriction – no small children.)

You will start with a walk down to the thrilling and unique “Cheetah Chase” arena where a cheetah will sprint past you to catch a lure that imitates the way a cheetah hunts. This happens early before it gets hot.

Afterwards you will enjoy an open vehicle safari tour through the reserve to see many unusual animals like caracal, honeybadger, vultures and wilddog. Part of the tour includes animal feeding where the cheetahs and wilddogs come close to the vehicle providing excellent close up views and photograph opportunities.

The centre was started as a conservation project in 1971 for Cheetah and Wild dog whose numbers have dwindled alarmingly in the wild and continues its valuable work today. Nowhere else will you hear such in depth stories about how the individuals here behave, their quirks and their natural responses. 

With the recent spotlight on animal interaction ethics in South Africa they have removed “petting” but you can still enjoy these magnificent animals up close.

Entrance fees at the park go directly toward their breeding and rehabilitation programs

Cheetahs are not good with small children so a height restriction of 1,2m applies.
